LA GAETA - GA Strategy

For lagaeta.com, we implemented a data-driven Google Analytics 4 strategy focused on understanding how organic visibility, brand traffic, and ecommerce behavior interact to generate sales performance.

The objective of this analytics framework was to transform acquisition and interaction data into actionable insights, identifying how users discover the website, explore the product catalogue, and progress toward purchase.

This strategy was developed in connection with the content strategy for La Gaeta, allowing us to measure how SEO-driven visibility and product-focused content contribute to user engagement and commercial results.

By combining acquisition analysis, event tracking, and user behavior insights, the project provides a complete view of how traffic is converted into ecommerce performance.

Google Analytics – Performance:

2023

The analysis of user acquisition channels shows that Organic Search and Direct traffic are the primary sources of sessions, revealing a balanced acquisition model between SEO visibility and brand recognition.

According to the acquisition data, google / organic and (direct) / (none) generate the majority of traffic, while referral sources contribute additional visibility through external domains and partnerships.

From a global perspective, the website reaches over 4,000 active users with an average engagement time of around 40–50 seconds, indicating consistent interaction across product and category pages.

The project shows a strong ecommerce-driven performance, where traffic not only generates sessions but also contributes to consistent commercial activity and revenue generation.

The geographic distribution is led by Spain, particularly cities such as Barcelona and Madrid, while also attracting international users, supporting the scalability of the online store.

This performance highlights a dual strategy based on SEO acquisition and brand traffic, both contributing to sustained ecommerce growth.

Google Analytics – Events:

2023

The measurement strategy is based on a structured event tracking system that captures both user interaction and ecommerce behavior.

The data shows a total of over 44,000 events, with key interactions distributed across page_view, user_engagement, scroll, and session_start.

High volumes of page_view and user_engagement events confirm active browsing behavior, especially across product listings and category pages.

At the ecommerce level, events such as view_item_list, view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout, and purchase allow us to measure the full purchase journey.

Additionally, interaction events such as select_content and click provide insights into how users explore products and navigate the catalogue.

The presence of purchase-related events confirms consistent transaction activity, reinforcing the role of the website as a fully operational ecommerce platform.

This event-based approach enables a detailed understanding of user behavior, connecting browsing patterns with commercial outcomes.

Google Analytics –
Funnels & Explorations:

2023

Based on the available event tracking data, we analyzed how users interact with the website and progress through the ecommerce journey.

The user journey is clearly ecommerce-driven, where product listings and category pages act as entry points that guide users toward product detail pages and transactional actions.

The data reveals strong top-level interaction, with high volumes of view_item_list and view_item events, indicating active product discovery and catalogue exploration.

However, the transition from product interaction to events such as add_to_cart and begin_checkout suggests that only a portion of users move forward into the purchase process, which is consistent with typical ecommerce behavior.

Even without a fully configured funnel, the sequence of events allows us to identify patterns of user intent and progression toward purchase.

This type of analysis allows us to:

  • Understand how users interact with product listings and detail pages
  • Identify potential drop-off points between browsing and purchase actions
  • Optimize navigation and product visibility
  • Improve conversion opportunities based on observed behavior

By combining acquisition data and event tracking, the strategy provides a realistic view of user behavior without relying on predefined funnels, establishing a solid foundation for future optimization and advanced analysis.
